Atmegatron / Re: Any more Atmegatrons?
Last post by paulsoulsby - February 12, 2019, 01:00:21 PM
Hi - I'm still working away on ATX.  Apologies for going silent, there's just so much to do.  To confirm the new ATX range will consist of:
Atmegatron II - 2 Atmegatrons + new powerful control interface
Atmultitron - 8 Atmegatrons, analogue filter, analogue VCA + control interface + keybed + joystick
Separate Eurorack modules of Atmegatron, Filter, VCA, Controller (required for control of other modules), possibly joystick/keybed interface and other IO modules.

The idea of ATX is that it's expandable, so 1 controller can control upto 8 synths and 8 fx cards (filters, VCAs, fx etc).

Let me know if you want any more info (apart from price, still can't do that yet I'm afraid!)

Hi,
Upload instructions are here: https://soulsbysynths.com/miniatmegatron-downloads/
or video here: https://youtu.be/07cy_KiLm8k

Lemur and Ctrlr are just methods of controlling the miniAtmegatron via CC messages.  They aren't VSTs, but you can control it from your DAW over USB MIDI.  All parameters are available on CCs.

The main change was the RGB LED, which has different pin-outs. You'll see issue2 or 3 written on the PCB.  If the LED colours look wrong, just try the other one. It won't damage the board.

Just upload a .hex via EasyUploader and it'll all work fine. Details here: https://soulsbysynths.com/oscitron-downloads/

Hey all/Paul
I accidentally uploaded a blank arduino sketch and now my Oscitron doesn't work... is there a place to get the arduino sketch to reupload?
Thanks

Quote from: paulsoulsby on December 05, 2017, 12:53:49 PMIf you haven't already, check out mini excavators here and join the mailing list for info on a very small number of Atmegatrons which will be available in a couple of weeks.  Info will only be available on the mailing list: http://eepurl.com/FQIYL
After they've gone, it's eBay only!!  There'll be more info on the new range of Atmegatrons in the new year. Aiming for launch at Superbooth.

Where can we see the plans for 2019, Paul? I take it that there are going to be new Atmegatrons next year, right?

I made another thing.  Just a quick sketch, really, but it's a NES-styled 8-bit tune so it's kind of relevant.

I mostly made it to get the idea written down, so I can go back and finish it later.  But then the Smash Ultimate trailer came out, so I tried their thing with my thing...  and it fits!

Nothing fancy, no effects -- just square waves, some vibrato, and drums.  I find I really like prototyping songs that way.  It keeps the emphasis on melodic composition instead of patch design, and a square wave has a rich set of harmonics so I can really hear which notes fit together and which don't.

miniAtmegatron / Re: SparkFun Pro Micro

Hi - that range of Atmegas wouldn't be compatible without significant changes to the code and schematic.  Think it would be possible though, with the necessary changes.

Has anyone tried with a spark fun pro micro? It uses an Atmega38U4
